Group Human Resources Manager
Phoenix Marine Manufacturing is recruiting for a suitably skilled and experienced Human Resources Manager to oversee and manage the full Human Resources portfolio for all companies within the group.
Minimum Qualifications & Experience
- Matric
- Degree or Diploma in Human Resources or related qualification
- 5+ years HR Management experience
- Valid drivers license
- Fully computer literate
Responsibilities and Key Performance Areas
Recruitment:
- Manage the full recruitment process on gaps identified with Branch Managers/ Exco / Directors.
- Assist managers to identify gaps
- Advertise on all available portals, screen suitable candidates and present to Managers for consideration.
- Manage the interview process.
- Screening and referencing of all candidates
- Onboarding successful candidates into the company.
Skills Development and Employment Equity:
- Submission of all legislated reporting: WSP / ATR, Employment Equity accurately and ontime with the required inputs from the Senior Management Team.
- Identify training needs through Skills Gap Analysis
- Manage all external training initiatives – Learnerships, internships and HSE required training.
- Run Training Committee and Employment Equity Committee meetings for all companies.
- Manage relationship with MERSETA to ensure compliance.
- Identify opportunities for Discretionary Grant projects and implement and manage.
Performance:
- Oversee quarterly Performance Review Process for all employees across the group.
- Consolidate inputs from reviews for presentation to CEO for annual increases and bonuses.
- Identify poor performers and support Managers with Performance Improvement Plans.
- Develop Individual development planning (Employee specific, ongoing) alongside Management and Exco
- Monitor Staff satisfaction, in their positions and work environment
- Help foster a culture of Pride, openness, honesty and integrity within the organisation
- Implement cost saving initiatives / increasing work performance and productivity within the workplace.
Employee Relations:
- Manage relationship with Labour consultant Labournet.
- Lead and assist with Hearings, Disciplinary actions as and when required, including CCMA.
- Mentor and guide all IR/HR Functions within the Management Team.
- Policies and Procedures: regular review of all HR Policies and processes that relate to staff/ internal processes, and make recommendations alongside Management Team.
- Implement and guide Exco on any improvements that can be done within our internal processes or policies.
Health and Safety:
- Work closely with Health and Safety team to ensure all staff are provided with PPE, training etc where required and assess possible risks or problems when applicable
Employee Benefits:
- Work closely with the Payroll Administrator to ensure staff benefits are properly managed and communicated to all employees.
Communication and Reporting:
- Regular meetings with CEO and Senior Management Team.
- Monthly Reporting CEO on activities and progress. Absenteeism, Disciplinaries, Training ect.
- Manage business communication to all employees to foster a culture of transparency and inclusion.
The successful incumbent will be required to travel to the various companies as and when required to fulfill their duties for this role.
