Junior Buyer
Phoenix Marine Manufacturing is looking for a dedicated and knowledgeable Buyer to work in the procurement department for their factory in Atlantis. This role plays a crucial role in ensuring the timely procurement of quality materials and products for manufacturing our bespoke award-winning catamarans in our Atlantis factory.
Minimum Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum of 3 years experience in a procurement role.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Skilled in Microsoft suite: Excel/MS Word
- Proficiency in ERP systems – particularly purchasing and planning functionality.
- Qualification in purchasing or procurement advantageous
Responsibilities and Key Performance Areas
- Sourcing and Procurement:
- Research, source, and purchase quality products and materials required for marine manufacturing and operations.
- Identify potential suppliers, negotiate contracts, and establish pricing agreements.
- Ensure timely and accurate delivery of stock by maintaining strong relationships with suppliers.
- Inventory Management:
- Manage inventory levels using MRP (Material Requirements Planning) and stock replenishment systems.
- Monitor stock levels and place orders to avoid shortages or overstock situations.
- Supplier Management:
- Conduct supplier evaluations and audits to ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Address any issues or concerns with supplier performance and work on continuous improvement.
- Cost Optimization:
- Liaise with internal teams to understand procurement needs and optimize costs.
- Implement procurement policies, procedures, and guidelines to streamline processes.
- Documentation and Compliance:
- Prepare and maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and other important data.
