Sailing with purpose
The Xquisite Sixty Solar Sail, designed in partnership with Dixon Yacht Design and built by Phoenix Marine Manufacturing, represents the pinnacle of sustainable bluewater yacht building. Combining electric hybrid propulsion, solar integration, and lightweight composite engineering, this 60-foot catamaran is crafted for comfort, efficiency, and independence.
Constructed at Phoenix’s advanced composite facility in Cape Town, the Sixty Solar Sail embodies the brand’s ethos of innovation and responsibility. Each yacht is meticulously hand-finished by skilled artisans who understand the demands of ocean voyaging and the expectations of discerning owners.

Hybrid architecture
Twin 110 HP diesel engines pair with two 15 kW electric motors, giving the Sixty Solar Sail both endurance and silent operation. Its solar array (up to 6 kW) charges a robust lithium-ion battery bank, powering onboard systems and propulsion for emission-free operation under many conditions.
Hybrid propulsion allows extended silent cruising while maintaining the range and redundancy needed for global passages. The system’s digital energy management platform integrates generation, storage, and use — maximising autonomy with minimal footprint.
Design and performance
With a length overall of 18.80 m and a beam of 8.915 m, the Sixty Solar Sail offers generous living space balanced by excellent seakeeping. Its composite structure, infused with carbon reinforcement, provides rigidity without excess weight. A bridge deck clearance of 1.05 m ensures smooth sailing even in challenging seas.
The open-plan saloon, panoramic windows, and forward lounge connect seamlessly with the cockpit, creating an uninterrupted social space. Interiors, handcrafted at Phoenix’s Hub, showcase refined joinery, marine-grade finishes, and contemporary design sensibility.
