Built exclusively by Phoenix Marine Manufacturing at its 36,000 m² facility outside Cape Town, the X5E PLUS represents a new chapter in hybrid design. Every hull, bulkhead, and system is crafted with precision — marrying cutting-edge technology with the timeless integrity of hand-built workmanship.
Hybrid propulsion at its finest
The X5E PLUS integrates a dual hybrid-electric propulsion system, featuring twin 15 kW Integrel e-Drives combined with Yanmar 4JH80 diesel engines. This hybrid pairing enables quiet electric cruising, regenerative energy recovery, and extended range when needed.
Solar charging supports the lithium battery bank, allowing for silent anchorages and self-sufficient operation even on long passages. An intuitive energy management system oversees power flow across propulsion, hotel, and renewable systems — ensuring efficiency, redundancy, and effortless control.
Smart, serviceable systems
Every component within the X5E PLUS is installed with accessibility, clarity, and longevity in mind. Phoenix’s in-house electrical team applies meticulous documentation, cable routing, and labelling, while composite and engineering teams collaborate on integrated systems routing within structural elements.
Digital switching enables simplified control, with touchscreen interfaces providing system status, diagnostics, and monitoring at a glance. The result is a yacht that’s as intelligent as it is beautiful — designed for real-world cruising, not just marina life.
