Fabian Rinquest – Training Specialist
Fabian Rinquest serves as Training Specialist at Phoenix Marine Manufacturing and runs the Skills Development Centre. Fabian brings two decades of hands-on experience in the yacht building and maritime manufacturing industry. His career spans composite fabrication, marine carpentry, quality control, ISO9001 implementation, commissioning, and structured skills development — giving him a rare blend of practical trade expertise and systems-driven leadership.
Fabian’s professional journey began on the workshop floor, progressing through roles in tooling, plug and mould building, GRP composites fabrication, primary assembly, and final commissioning. Over the years, he developed deep technical competence in resin infusion, structural fabrication, deck fitting, marine plumbing, mechanical and electrical commissioning, and final launch sign-off. This foundation allows him to train artisans with credibility, precision, and real-world understanding.
At Phoenix Marine Manufacturing, Fabian leads the company’s Skills Development Centre and quality systems framework. He oversees ISO9001 implementation, internal auditing, quality control system management, and continuous improvement initiatives guided by KAIZEN principles. His work ensures that Phoenix maintains rigorous production standards while simultaneously developing the next generation of marine professionals.
Previously at Robertson and Caine International Yachts, Fabian served as Training Officer and Quality Control Supervisor, where he facilitated technical and EHS training, developed skills matrices, implemented structured learning programmes, and led auditing teams responsible for boat launch approval and commissioning sign-off. His experience managing quality teams and internal and external client compliance strengthened his ability to align workshop excellence with international standards.
Fabian is known for his integrity, loyalty, and disciplined work ethic. He believes that the success of any organisation rests in the capability and confidence of its people. His approach combines operational precision with mentorship — ensuring that training is not theoretical, but practical, measurable, and embedded into daily production processes.
Through structured development pathways, artisan mentorship, and quality-driven systems management, Fabian plays a pivotal role in ensuring that every vessel leaving Phoenix Marine Manufacturing reflects both technical excellence and the skill of a highly trained workforce.
