Gregory de Stadler — Head of Design, Studio 34 South

Gregory de Stadler leads Phoenix Marine’s in-house design office, Studio 34 South, where engineering precision meets creative innovation. Holding a BSc Honours in Electro-Mechanical Engineering from the University of Cape Town, Gregory combines practical seafaring experience with advanced systems design expertise.

His career spans commercial vessels, naval patrol boats, and high-performance luxury yachts. At KD Marine Design, he contributed to SA Navy survey and patrol vessels, while exploring hybrid propulsion and structural modelling. At Robertson & Caine, he introduced new-generation systems such as brushless DC chilled water air-conditioning and global shore power integration.

Today at Phoenix Marine Manufacturing, Gregory oversees system integration, 3D modelling, and next-generation vessel development — including the Bahari 525. His focus on digital precision, hybrid innovation, and sustainable engineering ensures Phoenix vessels remain globally competitive.

Gregory’s leadership ensures that every yacht emerging from Studio 34 South balances performance, elegance, and technical integrity.
